Giving an opinion and comparing two countries
By the end of this lesson you can say what you think with a reason and an example, and compare Italy and your country in everyday life.
5 min · Level B1
A good answer has three parts: opinion + reason + example. Secondo me i negozi aperti la domenica sono utili, perché molte persone lavorano tutta la settimana. Io, per esempio, faccio la spesa la domenica. After secondo me use the indicative: secondo me è utile.
In the comparison talk about everyday life: opening hours, school, food, transport, doctors. You don't need to talk about politics or religion. You don't have to say which country is better: say what is similar and what is different.
If you don't understand, don't stay silent: Scusi, non ho capito bene, può ripetere? To gain time say Allora... or Vediamo.... If you don't know a word, explain it with other words.
